Paint a Vacation
Tuesdays, Feb 4 – 25
from 2:00 – 4:00pm


Using a picture from your vacation, or a place you wish you could visit, we’ll explore using the vibrant colors of pastel to convey a sense of place, and look at composition as a way to help get us there.

Couples Wheel ThrowingJoin us for a fun night of clay play with your special someone!
We’ll begin with music, charcuterie, and wine, and then head up to the studio for an introductory lesson in wheel throwing. You will choose your glaze color when done and pick up at a later date. $120 per couple. Must be 21 to participate. Location: CAN-NC, 2400 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405

Art Journal Writing Series
Tuesdays, March 4, 11, 18 from 1:30 – 3:30PM

With the aid of guided prompts, participants will practice expressive writing to: enhance self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, unleash creativity and empowerment. Drawing Still Lifes in Charcoal
Tuesdays, March 4-25 from 2:00-4:00pm

In this class we will draw everyday objects from life, using charcoal pencils and compressed charcoal. We will explore values and textures as a way to create our drawing. $35 per class (includes all supplies). Location: Trotter Active Adult Center

Healing Trauma through Creativity
Wednesdays, March 5 – 26 from 1:00 – 3:00PM


Join Art Therapist Vanita Bailey to explore drawing, painting, collage, and more! Participants will have the opportunity to explore the impact traumatic events have had on their lives through making art and open discussion. $110 per 4-week series. All supplies included.

Intro to Wheel Throwing
Fridays, March 7 – 28 from 9:30am – 12:00pm

Hand Building Clay Series
Fridays from 3:00 – 5:30PM

Learn a different hand building technique each week and create your own unique piece. (ex; slab, coil, pinch pot)

Compassion Cultivation:
Developing Resilience in a Rapidly Changing World, Saturday March 8 at 11:00 am

Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) is a program designed to develop the qualities of compassion, empathy, and kindness for oneself and for others. CCT integrates traditional contemplative practices with contemporary psychology and scientific research on compassion.

Fruit and Vegetables in Oil Paint
Saturdays, March 22nd and 29th from 1pm – 3pm

In the 2-part series, we will paint 2-3 still lifes that we observe in class using fresh produce. This will give us the opportunity to talk about warm vs cool colors and creating lifelike shapes and forms with shading and highlights. $70, supplies included.

Wild Clay Foraging
Saturdays, April 4 – 26

Students learn to identify different types of wild clay in the piedmont region. Students will also learn how to process wild clay. $160, supplies included.

Pottery with Patrick
March 27th – April 24th
Thursdays from 9:30am – 12:00pm


This five-week class will introduce you to the fundamentals of working on the wheel. The focus will be on basics; cylinders, bowls and plates. Techniques for centering, opening, and pulling up clay will be covered. No prior wheel experience is required. $200, includes clay, glazing, and firing. Purchase of basic pottery tool kit recommended. Max of 4 participants.

Fruit and Flowers in Watercolor
Tuesdays from 2PM – 4PM
April 1, 8, 15, 29


In this class we’ll celebrate the colors of spring by exploring the various ways we can use watercolor. We will experiment to find new ways of expression in this media. $35 per class (includes all supplies). Location: Trotter Active Adult Center, 3906 Betula St, Greensboro, NC 27407

Aging in Space: Creative Movement
Wednesdays, April 16 through May 7
from 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Join UNCG Dance Professor Janet Lilly in this creative movement workshop designed for anyone who enjoys moving including artists, athletes, dancers, dog-walkers, and those who like a good wiggle. After a simple warm-up, participants will explore interior and exterior spatial awareness through movement and creative prompts. No dance experience is required. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. FREE but registration is required.
