Drawing Class – Putting People in the Picture
Tuesdays, January 7 – 28
from 2:00 – 4:00pm
In this series we will explore drawing full figures and faces. Using pencil and charcoal, we will spend the first 2 sessions on the clothed figure, using shapes and angles to help us show motion and gesture. The final 2 classes will focus on the face, using shapes and relationships to help us capture personality. All levels welcome! $35 per class (includes all supplies).

POTTERY WITH PATRICK ROWE
1st Winter Session
Thursdays, January 23rd – February 20th from 9:30am – 12:00pm. For ages 18 and up
This 5-week class will introduce you to the fundamentals of working on the wheel. We will focus on cylinders, bowls, and plates. Techniques for centering, opening, and pulling up clay will be covered. No prior wheel experience is required. Maximum of 4 participants. $200, includes clay, glazing, and firing. Paint a Vacation
Tuesdays, February 4 – 25

Using a picture from your vacation, or a place you wish you could visit, we’ll explore using the vibrant colors of pastel to convey a sense of place, and look at composition as a way to help get us there.

Join Art Therapist Vanita Bailey to explore drawing, painting, collage, and more! Participants will have the opportunity to explore the impact traumatic events have had on their lives through creative art making and open discussion. $110 per 4-week series. All supplies included.

Painting Snowy Landscapes in Acrylic
Saturday, January 25th from 1:30-5:30pm
In this half day class, we will add both texture and color to white paint to create snow in our landscapes. You would be surprised to learn that snow in a landscape is made more beautiful when small amounts of color are added to showcase where the light is hitting and the colors of the landscape itself are chosen carefully to enhance the wintery scene.
Objects you can bring to develop texture: fork or spoon, sand paper, actual plants or found objects outside, wood, cardboard, newspaper, sponge, dry paint brushes, bubble wrap, corks, buttons, plastic wrap or wax paper, string, sand, shells, stamps, comb, fabric, toothbrush, metal, baking soda, tennis ball, and so much more! $70, supplies included

Winter Florals in Acrylic
Sundays, February 9th and 16th from 1pm – 3pm
In this 2-part series, we will look at pictures and real plants and flowers to create 2-3 abstract pieces using acrylic paints. We will use organic shapes and lines as well as lots of color to capture the natural beauty in creation.

Hand Building Clay Series

Each week, participants will have the opportunity to learn a different hand building technique and create their own unique piece. (ex; slab, coil, pinch pot)

Art Journal Writing Series

Couples Wheel Throwing with Ashley
Thursday, February 13th from 6:30 – 8:30pm
Join us for a fun night of clay play with your special someone!
We’ll begin with music, charcuterie, and wine, and then head up to the studio for an introductory lesson in wheel throwing. Ashley Jones will demonstrate some basic wheel throwing and then you will try your hands at making your own piece of pottery. You will choose your glaze color when done and we will trim and glaze it for you to be picked up at a later date. $120 per couple. Must be 21 to participate.
